Appeal for witnesses following robbery – Milton Keynes

Main article content

Buckinghamshire

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Milton Keynes.

Between 7.55pm and 8pm on Saturday 1 August, a 19-year-old man was walking along the footpath beside V8 Marlborough Street, behind the Blacksmith Arms pub, when he was approached by two unknown males.

The offenders engaged the victim in conversation before demanding that he hand over his mobile phone. One of the offenders then revealed what appeared to be a machete tucked into his waistband. Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over his mobile phone and provided the PIN when demanded.

The offenders then ran from the scene, travelling past the front of the Blacksmith Arms pub before heading into Percheron Place, and the Downs Barn play park.

A blue Apple iPhone 16 Plus was stolen, along with a wallet attached to the phone case containing the victim’s bank card and provisional driving licence.

The first offender is described as a black male, in his late teens, approximately 5ft 7ins tall, of a slim build, with no facial hair. He was wearing a black Nike Tech tracksuit. The second offender is described as a black male, also in his late teens, wearing all black clothing and of a similar build.

Police Staff Investigator Barbara Elekes, of the Priority Crime Team, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or seen two males matching these descriptions in the area around the time of the offence, to come forward.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who was in or around the Blacksmith Arms pub, V8 Marlborough Street, Percheron Place or the nearby footpaths and fields between 7.45pm and 8.15pm on Saturday evening.

“If you have any dashcam, CCTV, doorbell camera or mobile phone footage that may have captured the offenders before or after the robbery, please contact Thames Valley Police.

Anyone with information can make a report online or call 101, quoting reference number 43260396929.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through its website.
