Man charged following assault – Marlow

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Marlow earlier this month.

Zayll Bennett, aged 26, of Bedder Road, High Wycombe, was charged on 22 July with one count each of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a pointed or bladed article in a public place.

The charges relate to an assault that occurred at approximately 12.37am on 12 July outside The Old Brewery public house in High Street, Marlow.

During the incident, a man in his thirties sustained a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which were not life-threatening or life-changing, and has since been discharged.

A 24-year-old man from High Wycombe, who was arrested in connection with the incident on the day it occurred, remains on police bail while enquiries continue.

Bennett appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court yesterday (23/7) and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 4 August.
