Update on murder investigation – Bletchley

Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit is continuing its murder investigation following the tragic death in Bletchley.

Warrants of further detention have been granted for both the 16-year-old boy from Milton Keynes and 36-year-old man from Aylesbury who were arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 26-year-old man in Brooklands Road on Thursday night (30/7). Therefore, they are still in our custody.

The 25-year-old man from Milton Keynes arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action after investigative work ruled him out as suspect.

A crime scene is still in place on Brooklands Road and is expected to remain for some time. Please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.

The victim has not yet been formally identified; we continue to support the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time. Please do not speculate at this time to avoid further distress to his family.

Detective Superintendent Jon Capps, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “We remain in the early stages of this complex and fast-moving murder investigation.

“Anyone with information about this murder, especially if you saw anything in the area of Brooklands Road and Sunset Close on Thursday night, should contact police.”
