Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a serving officer has been charged with assault by beating.
PC James Nellis, aged 31, based at Aylesbury police station, was charged by postal requisition on 16 April, with one count of assault by beating.
The charge relates to an assault in Lowndes Way in Winslow at around 12.30am on 20 October last year. Nellis was on duty at the time of the offence.
Nellis was put on restricted police duties on 23 October 2025.
Nellis is on unconditional court bail and is due to appear at Luton Magistrates’ Court on 11 December 2026.
