Appeal for information following rape & attempted rape – Milton Keynes

Main article content

Buckinghamshire
Published: 14:11 15/10/2026

Thames Valley Police is releasing images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with a rape and an attempted rape in Milton Keynes.

It was reported to police that between 8.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday 9 September, a woman in her thirties was raped by a man on a redway by the pedestrian bridge between Conniburrow and Milton Keynes.

We received a second report that on Wednesday 23 September a man attempted to rape a woman in her fifties shortly before 9.20pm on a redway in Conniburrow.

Both women are being supported by officers and we remain in contact with them.

Since these incidents were first reported to us we have been carrying out a range of comprehensive enquiries, including house to house and CCTV scoping in the area. We have also arrested a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Milton Keynes, on suspicion of rape and attempted rape. They have been released from police custody on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

As part of our ongoing investigation we now have these images of a man who we believe may have information to assist us. While we appreciate the images are not clear, we are hopeful that if anyone knows the man they may recognise him, or he may recognise himself in the images.

Detective Inspector Graeme Williams, of Milton Keynes’ Criminal Investigation Department, said: “I appreciate how concerned the local community may be to hear of these incidents, and want to assure you that detectives have been following every line of enquiry available.

“Based on the information available to us at the current time, we do not believe these incidents to be linked to any other offences in the area. Officers have been on patrol and will continue to carry out enquiries locally.

“We are releasing these images now as we believe the man pictured may have information that could help with our enquiries. I urge anyone with information to please phone 101 or report it online. If you see patrolling officers please do feel free to come and speak to them with any questions, information or concerns you may have.”

If you recognise the man in the images, or have any information, please call us on 101 quoting reference 43260474579. Alternatively, you can report via our website at How to tell us about an existing case or report | Thames Valley Police

You can also submit information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111 or by visiting Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers
