A man has appeared in court charged with murder following a Thames Valley Police investigation into the death of a father of three in Slough.
Boguslaw Walczyk, aged 45, of The Foyer, Stoke Road, Slough, has been charged with one count of murder in relation to the death of Marcin Jankowski, aged 48.
Walczyk appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court today (20/10), where he was remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court tomorrow (21/10). During the brief hearing, he spoke only to confirm his details before being told his case would be transferred to the crown court.
Officers were called to The Foyer, Stoke Road, on 24 September, where Marcin was found dead.
Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit launched a murder investigation following a post-mortem examination, which indicated that his death was the result of blunt force trauma.
Marcin’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May said: “Marcin’s death has had a devastating impact on those who knew and loved him, and our thoughts remain with his family and friends as they continue to come to terms with their loss.
“Although a man has now appeared before the court, our enquiries remain ongoing as we continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding Marcin’s death.
“I would continue to urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to come forward. The information you hold, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove important to our investigation.”
No further action will be taken against a 53-year-old man from Slough who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder.
