Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped following a night out in Oxford.

Officers were called after a 19-year-old woman reported that she was raped in the early hours of Sunday (13/05).

She left the area of Cowley Road at around 12.35am and headed towards Crown Street where she was approached by a man.

They headed in the direction of Union Street and the back of Tesco and the assault took place nearby.

The man is described as being black and was wearing an untucked beige shirt, blue ripped jeans and white trainers.

Detective Inspector Steve Raffield, from Oxford CID, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen this man and woman walking in this area between 12.30am and 3am on Sunday morning.

“If you think you might have seen them or have any information about what happened please get in touch.”
