Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault which occurred in Oxford.

The incident took place on Sunday (4/3) between 6.30pm and 7pm on Knights Road and continued into the Kassam Stadium car park.

The offender and victim, who are known to each other, were arguing at the bus stop on Knights Road.

The offender assaulted the victim and the argument continued down Knights Road and into the alleyway leading to the Kassam Stadium.

The victim was again assaulted by the steps to the Kassam car park. Both parties then left the scene in the direction of the Holiday Inn. 

The victim, a woman in her twenties, did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is a black male, 5ft 11ins tall and of stocky build. He is described as wearing black Nike tracksuit bottoms, a black Nike puffer jacket, a black do-rag headscarf and holding a bag.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Eva Ramirez, based at Oxford police station said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.

“If you have any information, please call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting incident reference 43180066826.”

A 31-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released under investigation.
