Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault which occurred in Woodley.
The incident took place yesterday (13/11) in Sandford Park at about 6.05pm.
The victim, a woman aged in her fifties, was pushed from behind by a man who was jogging in the park.
She fell to the ground and sustained an injury which required medical treatment.
The offender then fled the scene.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Matt Stone, of Reading Force CID, said: “We are investigating this assault, and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed it or who has any information relating to it.
“At this time, we are keeping an open mind as to whether this incident is linked to a recent sexual assault in Winnersh.
“If you have any details which you think could help our investigation, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
Chief Inspector Sarah Grahame, deputy LPA commander for Bracknell and Wokingham said: “Members of the public may be concerned about this incident, but I would like to reassure them that we have begun a full investigation and enquiries are taking place.
“Because of this, you may see an increased number of officers in the area. If you have any questions, please feel free to approach them, and if you have any information relating to this incident, please call 101.”
