Burglary of shop – Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Oxford.

At 4.17am today (3/1) the force received a report of two men breaking in to the Co-op in London Road, Headington. They smashed their way through a glass panel at the entrance of the store.

Once inside offenders broke into the cigarette cabinet and stole cigarettes.

The shop was closed at the time of the burglary and no one was injured.

The offenders were wearing scarves covering their faces and gloves.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Gareth Steward, of Oxford Investigation Hub, said: “Detectives are investigating the burglary and I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything in the area at the time which may assist our investigation.

“It is believed a motor vehicle was used to get to and from the scene. I would like to speak to anyone who saw any vehicles which looked out of place or were being driven erratically in the area at time of this incident.”
