Burglary of shop - Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary of a shop in Oxford.

At around 11.50pm yesterday (3/2) offenders reversed a stolen Land Rover Discovery in to the Aldi store in Horspath Driftway, Headington.

The offenders used the vehicle to attempt to remove a cash machine from inside the store however were unsuccessful and left the scene empty-handed and on foot.

No one was injured however the store was damaged during the incident

Detective Constable Rosie Campbell, based at Oxford Force CID, said: “We are investigating this burglary and I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who saw any suspicious activity in the area at around the time of the incident.

“If you have any information which could assist our investigation and have not already spoken to officers, please call police to report this. Although we are in the early stages of the investigation, we are looking in to whether this incident may be linked to other recent similar burglaries.”
