Robbery of personal property – Oxford

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oxford.

At around 9pm on Wednesday (19/4) the victim, an 18-year-old man was walking in Jeune Street, Cowley, carrying a white carrier bag. He was knocked unconscious and was discovered by a Good Samaritan who called an ambulance for him.

His mobile phone and wallet were stolen in the incident.

The victim attended hospital and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer Police Constable Jamie Thornton, from Oxford Local CID, said: “Officers are investigating the circumstances of this robbery. Unfortunately the victim has no recollection of the incident so we need the public’s assistance to help us to piece together what happened and to identify the offenders.

“Due to the time of night there is likely to have been many people around. The victim walked down Stockmore Street towards Cowley Road, then crossed over and went down Jeune Street. Anyone with any details which may assist the investigation is asked to contact officers.”
