Thames Valley Police can confirm that a Restriction of Flying Regulation has been granted for Royal Ascot.

As part of overall security operation, a Restriction of Flying Regulation has been granted in the vicinity of Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire between 9:00am and 7:00pm from 18 June 2019 up to and including 22 June 2019.

This restricts aircrafts from flying below 2000 ft.

The restriction also covers the use of all drones in and around Ascot.

This will be monitored and enforced throughout the event and offenders will be liable for prosecution.

The use of drones is also strictly prohibited within Windsor Great Park.

Tactical Commander for the policing operation, Chief Superintendent Gavin Wong, said: "This Restriction of Flying Regulation is a routine measure for a large scale event such as this and is part of the broad range of security measures that are in place to deliver a safe, secure and enjoyable week for everyone."
