New Firearms Licensing Portal
What applications can I submit on the new portal?
Currently the new firearms licensing portal supports the below application types:
- Firearm Grant
- Firearm Renewal
- Shotgun Grant
- Shotgun Renewal
- Coterminous Firearm & Shotgun Grant
- Coterminous Firearm & Shotgun Renewal
- Firearm Transfer
- Shotgun Transfer

- Gun Club Grant
- Gun Club Renewal
- Explosive Grant
- Explosive Renewal
- Firearm Variation One-For-One
- Firearm Variation with Additional Firearm
Please note: For all other form types, continue to use the pre-existing method until instructed otherwise.
Benefits to the New Portal
- Use an existing account if you have used the portal to report a crime.
- The ability to save your applications in a draft state and return to complete later.
- Receive automated text and email notifications with progress of your applications.
Accessing the New Portal
- Navigate to New Firearms Licensing Portal and select 'Register for Firearms'.
If you have previously reported a crime, you can log in with those details. Please note: you will need to set up two factor authentication if not completed previously for security purposes.
- Fill in the account details and click 'Sign Up'.
