Policing the Royal Wedding
Policing the Royal Wedding of Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank
On Friday, 12th October, Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, followed by a short carriage procession through Windsor.
Thames Valley Police has a strong tradition in policing royal events in Windsor and the policing of the Royal Wedding is a proud moment for the Force.
Thames Valley Police works closely with partners, local businesses and the community to make sure that the event is safe and secure.
Visitors to the town can expect to see more of our officers, both armed and unarmed, our search dogs, our mounted section and National Police Air Service in the lead up to and on the day of the event.
A broad range of visible security measures are already in place, such us the extensive network of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) barriers.
There are also many security measures that you can’t see.
As ever we encourage local businesses, our communities and visitors to continue to be vigilant and if you see something that doesn’t look right, let one of our officers know and we will look into your concerns fully.
We are proud to police the event and welcome well-wishers to Windsor.
