Foreign national registration

Advice for overseas visitors and students studying or living in the Thames Valley Police Area.

If you are visiting the UK then you may need to register with the police; check your visa from the British Embassy to confirm this. If your visa and/or attaching letter stipulates that you are required to register with the police then this must be done within seven days of your arrival.

Who needs to register as a foreign national?
Registering for the first time
Changes that require re-registration
Obtaining a replacement certificate

You could be fined £5,000 and jailed for six months if you do not register in accordance with your visa requirements.

Late registration could affect any future visa applications.

If you require any additional help or information, please contact the Thames Valley Police Registration Office, telephone 01865 541191.

Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3:30pm, email: ForeignNationalRegistrations@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
