The South Team is conducting targeted patrols in the areas of The Curve, St Ethelbert’s, and Yew Tree Road Park to address alcohol-related anti-social behaviour and utilise alcohol seizure powers where appropriate. Displacement of street drinkers into these locations has been identified following ongoing town centre redevelopment.
We continue to work closely with Slough Borough Council to develop longer-term solutions, while gathering evidence and intelligence to support potential Community Protection Notices. Proactive patrols and engagement activity will remain in place to reduce anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to the local community.
Issued 01 June 2026
* Conduct regular targeted patrols to address alcohol-related ASB.
* Signpost vulnerable individuals to appropriate support services.
* Work with Slough Borough Council to target and manage hotspot areas.
*Enforce PSPO powers, including confiscation of alcohol in public spaces.
*Consider use of CPNs/CPNs and other police powers, including dispersal notices, for persistent offenders.
*33 alcohol seizures were made in June and already 33 conducted in July.

A period of hot weather across the UK has resulted in more people visiting rivers such as the Jubilee River to cool down, contributing to an increase in water-related incidents and fatalities. Despite appearing safe, rivers can present significant hazards, including strong currents, sudden drop-offs, and cold-water shock. Emergency services are reminding the public that these risks can affect even experienced swimmers and are urging people to avoid entering unsupervised open water, particularly during periods of extreme heat.
Issued 01 June 2026
* Regular targeted patrols on the Jubilee River.
* Working with partner agencies to share information, namely Fire & Rescue service.
*We will identify hotspot locations and ensure that any children found unsupervised on tow paths are reported to their parents, with relevant referrals made when appropriate.
* Alcohol consumption can increase risk near water, as individuals may have reduced awareness and be more likely to enter the water unintentionally.
