Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been jailed for multiple domestic abuse offences in Reading.
A Reading drugs line has been dismantled and four people jailed for a combined total of 23 and a half years following an investigation by Thames Valley Police and the Metropolitan Police.
A targeted operation in Reading town centre, which has won the Thames Valley Police 2026 Laycock Award, is delivering significant reductions in crime, catching the offenders who drive the problem and reducing the impact on shop staff, businesses and the wider community.
At 11 am on Thursday, the 23rd of April 2026, the Police Memorial Trust formally unveiled a specially commissioned memorial stone dedicated to the memory of Police Constable Andrew Harper of Thames Valley Police.
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for drugs supply offences in Reading.
Anti-social use of motorbikes, e-scooters, dirt bikes and quadbikes throughout the area - in particular, issues with youths riding bikes through and nearby into wooded areas.

The local NHPT have been working along side WBC to find a solution to the continued use of bridle ways by unauthorised motorbikes, dirt bikes and quad bikes. With both parties in agreement there have been strategies put forward for the alteration to the bridleways to become safe and to be used correctly. Along side this Officers and PCSO’s have been stopping and engaging with those who have been seen with these types of motorised vehicles. If being used in a incorrect manner without the correct documentation then these were seized. Continued enforcement will be done along education in regards to the vehicles.

Theft of parcels across the Shinfield area, mainly Shinfield Park estate. This is an ongoing problem and potentially suspects using fraudulent means to obtain, and mainly involved parcels left out side by couriers.

The NH are working tirelessly to continue to combat the ASB within the local area. Those found to be persistent offenders will have been issued Community Protection Notices and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts which both of these have conditions that need to be adhered to. The NH team have continued to conduct high visibility patrols within the hot sport areas and engaging with the community, actively preventing any ASB that could be caused.

Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the Arborfield, Spencers Wood and Shinfield areas which has had a significant community impact. Specific areas include Spencers Wood rec, High Copse and Millworth Lane Rec. This was highlighted by the Community in recent surveys

The NH team have been conducting high visibility patrols within the affected area. Recently the team have been able to apprehend a Suspect for a reported theft where they were charged and bailed from court and awaiting for the trial date.
The NH team also made appeals to the public to come forward if anyone else has been a victim of a similar crime. The NH team want to work alongside the community in order prevent further incidents of this nature occurring.
