Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team
Every neighbourhood in the Thames Valley area has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team that works together with the local community and partners to: reduce crime and incidents, bring more offenders to justice, protect the vulnerable and tackle violence against women and girls and improve victim service and public confidence.
Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers and the Special Constabulary.
They aim to make communities safer through an approach that is focussed on visibility, engagement, problem solving and community resilience.

Anti-social behaviour was voted again as a priority issue within the South area in the latest community survey in August 2026.
The Aylesbury South neighbourhood team will be aiming to reduce anti-social behaviour around Walton Court shops and Edinburgh Playing Fields.Action taken:
The team will be working with partner agencies and increasing patrols around target areas during periods of heavy footfall.
Officers will conduct high visibility patrols in areas identified to be most impacted by anti-social behaviour. They will also continue with their monthly have your say events to engage with the local residents, speak with them about what concerns they have and offer crime prevention advice.
The team are also receiving consistent reports of motorbikes riding across the Edinburgh playing fields. They will be conducting high visibility patrols in the location and seizing any bikes found to be riding across the fields.
and Walton Court Centre. We will continue to work with local businesses to prevent ASB.
Sept Update: In August we deployed CCTV and ANPR vans to identify offenders in 27 hotspots. These operations will continue throughout sept/oct. We saw an increase in recorded ASB incidents & crimes of 67% in August.
This priority is reviewed quarterly as per community survey results and actions reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.

Priority:
Speeding was voted again as a priority for the Aylesbury South team by the local community in the survey completed August 2026. Specific areas mentioned are Churchill Avenue and Prebendal Avenue.
Action taken:
The South team will be enforcing the speed limit in target areas, we will be conducting high visibility speed enforcement throughout the quarter and . this will include issuing fines and educational programmes.
The team will look to update the community on the results of this speeding enforcement operation once completed.
Sept Update: CCTV & ANPR van deployed on Churchill Ave on 2nd Sept - 32 vehicles 30mph or under, 6 vehicles 31-34 mph ( registrations noted for warning letters) Further operations to continue through sept.

Priority:
Drug offending remains a top concern again by the local community survey results in the August 2026 survey. The Aylesbury South team have been made aware of the increase in class A and B drugs being dealt within certain locations around the area.
Action taken:
The team target drug dealers with proactive policing, this includes gathering and submitting intelligence on individuals suspected to be drug dealing and utilising stop and search powers to lead to arrests and warrants.
They will also continue patrols around areas identified to have persistent incidents of drug activity in order to deter further offending.
Sept Update: On 25th August a county lines runner who was dealing cocaine from a moped was arrested. drugs were seized and offender charged and remanded in custody. On 26/08 a further two males were arrested and a large value of cocaine seized. 2 recorded instances of possession in Aug.
