Reports of burglary activity in Queen Elizabeth Crescent. Also youth-related damage to properties involving individuals kicking residents' front doors, causing concern within the local community. The incidents have been identified as part of a wider pattern of youth nuisance behaviour occurring during the evening hours and periods of reduced natural light.
Issued 01 September 2026
Neighbourhood officers conducted enquiries, including the review of available evidence and engagement with local residents, resulting in the identification of the youths responsible. Positive action was taken, with those involved being held accountable through the use of Community Resolutions, ensuring the behaviour was addressed proportionately and that the offenders understood the impact of their actions on the community. Reassurance patrols were carried out in the area, and residents were provided with crime prevention advice and encouraged to report any further suspicious activity.
To further address concerns as the darker evenings approach, Operation Grotto will be implemented as part of Thames Valley Police's seasonal crime prevention strategy. The operation focuses on increasing high-visibility patrols in areas identified as vulnerable to burglary, anti-social behaviour and acquisitive crime during the extended hours of darkness. Officers will conduct targeted patrols, engage with local communities, identify vulnerable locations, provide home security advice, and work with partner agencies where appropriate. The increased police presence aims to deter potential offenders, reassure residents, and reduce opportunities for crime during the autumn and winter months.

Residents on Cherry Tree Road reported ongoing anti-social behaviour linked to the use of illegal e-scooters and off-road motorcycles. Concerns included riders using footpaths and public spaces in a dangerous manner, causing alarm and distress to local residents, creating noise nuisance, and presenting a risk to pedestrians and other road users. The behaviour was having a negative impact on the community's feeling of safety and quality of life.
Issued 01 September 2026
The neighbourhood policing team increased high-visibility foot patrols within the area to provide reassurance, engage with residents, and identify individuals involved in anti-social behaviour. Targeted enforcement operations were conducted focusing on the illegal use of e-scooters and off-road bikes. These proactive activities resulted in a number of e-scooters being seized and subsequently destroyed. Officers have also gathered intelligence, conducted stop checks where appropriate, and worked with partners to identify repeat offenders and hotspot locations.
The increased police presence has provided reassurance to the local community and has disrupted some of the anti-social behaviour affecting the area. The seizure and destruction of illegal e-scooters has demonstrated a robust approach to enforcement and acted as a deterrent to those using such vehicles unlawfully.
Further intelligence-led operations will continue to target the illegal use of e-scooters and off-road bikes across Cherry Tree Road and surrounding areas. High-visibility patrols will remain in place, with officers continuing to engage with residents, gather information, and take enforcement action where offences are identified. The neighbourhood team remains committed to reducing ASB and improving community safety for those living in the area.

The location had become a gathering point for individuals engaging in suspected drug use and associated anti-social behaviour, resulting in community concerns regarding safety and the condition of the area. During patrol activity, drug paraphernalia was located, providing further evidence of ongoing drug-related activity and highlighting the negative impact on local residents and those using the pathway.
Issued 01 September 2026
The Neighbourhood Policing Team increased patrols in the area, focusing on the pathway between Station Road, St Michaels Green and Calenden Close to disrupt drug-related activity, gather intelligence and provide reassurance to the public. Officers carried out regular high-visibility patrols, engaged with local residents and conducted checks on individuals found frequenting the location.
