Anti-Social Behaviour was again voted a priority in the August 2026 community survey.
Issued 14 September 2026
The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing its work to reduce youth related anti social behaviour (ASB) in Chandos Park, the Skate Park, Bourton Park, Candleford Court, and Hunter Street in Buckingham, as well as within Steeple Claydon and Calvert Green.
An increase reflects a wider trend across the force and is not unique to Buckingham and the villages. It is likely linked to changes in ASB recording practices introduced over the past year, rather than a genuine surge in ASB crimes or incidents—although the raw numbers may suggest otherwise.
Historically, ASB reports decrease during the winter months as fewer people are out and about. However, ASB remains a priority for the team all year round.
Officers and PCSOs continue regular patrols in Buckingham Town Centre, which remains a designated hotspot patrol area. If you see us out on foot, please feel free to stop, say hello, and discuss any ASB concerns you may have.
The team hold a month meeting with Buckingham University and over the month of August have been working with a housing association in relation to some youth ASB issues at Candleford Court. We also had some ASB reported within Foscott Bird Hide. Officers from the team have also been attending the Youth Club within Buckingham.
•Actions will be reviewed on the 30th of each month to track progress and adjust where needed.
•The ASB priority will be reviewed quarterly in line with future community survey results.
