Burglary has been identified as a top concern by the residents of Chepping Wye in the recent neighbourhood priorities survey

The neighbourhood team will carry out high visibility patrols in locations a burglary has taken place or in locations where there has been increased report.
In light of burglaries, the team will also carry out a process called cocooning, where they will seek to visit the victims and engage with households in the proximity of the area, either via door knocks or leaflet drops.
Have your say events also continue to be conducted in locations around Chepping Wye. Usually conducted by PCSOs and sometimes PCs, these events give members of the public the opportunity to pick up crime prevention material and speak with their local neighbourhood team about any concerns they may have.
Burglary operations continue to take place, especially when a burglary series with repeat offenders has been identified. Due to cross border offending that resulted in 10 burglaries taking place in Beaconsfield, Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Penn, High Wycombe and Loudwater, TVP conducted an investigation with the Met and Bedfordshire police. This resulted in 3 men being charged in connection with these burglaries. As burglary offenders are often individuals from out of the area who travel to Buckinghamshire to target homes in the county, collobartive efforts like this will continue to take place where necessary.

In our recent neighbourhood priority survey, the residents of Chepping Wye identified drug offences as one of their top concerns, which can often come with associated anti-social behaviour.

The neighbourhood team will carry out high visibility patrols at peak times, currently the issues are identified to take place in the evenings so the team will utilise their late shifts to put visibility in the area.
They will seek to stop and engage with any individuals suspected of causing issues as well as carry out stop searches where necessary. Intel will continue to be built around drug usage and drug dealing. There are a number of solutions the team utilise to tackle drug offences. For lower levels such as cannabis possession and with the recent issues of youths smoking cannabis around garages, a community resolution order can be given to prevent further offending.

Speeding was highlighted as the 3rd priority by residents of Chepping Wye

To address the concerns of speeding, special constables have recently completed training with speed gun equipment and how to carry out effective speed enforcement on the roads. While road offences typically are a priority of the roads policing unit, the neighbourhood team will be planning more days of speeding enforcement on roads identified to have issues
The neighbourhood teams across Buck continue to promote the community speed watch scheme, in which local residents volunteer to monitor the speeds in their neighbourhood with support from police.
