The Neighbourhood Inspector has overall responsibility for the entire neighbourhood policing team of Sergeants, Police Constables, PCSOs and police staff. They are responsible for delivering on neighbourhood policing strategies, directing the deployment of the team and developing relationships with partners and key stakeholders to enable the neighbourhood policing team to work effectively.

The Neighbourhood Sergeant provides frontline management to support and co-ordinate the activity of the neighbourhood policing team. They work with key partners and stakeholders to problem solve issues and develop innovative ways to identify and safeguard vulnerable people within the community.

Police Constables work alongside the community and partner agencies to tackle crime and issues identified by the local community. They work together with PCSOs to be a visible presence in the local area and build trust and confidence by developing a detailed understanding of the community.

    Drug offences has been highlighted as a top community concern in Marlow. Most recently the team have received increased reports of youths doing NOS.

    Action taken:

    The team will carry out hotspot patrols of areas with increased reports of drug using to detect and deter the behaviour as well as gather intelligence around offending and drug dealing activity. While out on patrols officers will continue to stop and engage with any suspicious persons and where applicable carry out stop searches. Major investigations involving drug offending will often be overseen by the investigative departments, the neighbourhood team will assist with any community actions

    The residents of Marlow have voted speeding to be one of their top community concerns

    Action taken:

    The Marlow neighbourhood team have been increasing their speeding operations around school areas and reported hotspots from community speed watch and the community. They will continue to periodically conduct days of action and enforcement to combat speeding around the roads of Marlow. We will look to update the community on results from this activity.   • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour around the Marlow south west rural area has been highlighted by the community as a priority. Results are derived from the ASB toolkit. In South West Rurals in the last 12 months, reports of ASB are 103 up from 91 and a 13% increase in ASB
    53 of the 103 reported incidents were recorded as ASB community; compared to 8 personal and 4 Environmental.
    This statistic will be compared monthly with each passing month to identify if the actions set deter further reports
    They are also seeing increased reports of youth anti-social behaviour and off road bikes.

    Action taken:

    Action to combat anti-social behaviour will include hi-visibility patrols and partnership working with Buckinghamshire council. The team will also being conducting regular have your say events in locations most impacted by anti-social behaviour in order to provide a police presence as well as give crime prevention advice to the public. The data around anti-social behaviour will be compared monthly to ensure progress is being made on this priority.
    Specific focus in the rural areas are on managing ASB through off-roading bikes, flytipping and youths lighting fires and causing damage.
