Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team
The Neighbourhood Inspector has overall responsibility for the entire neighbourhood policing team of Sergeants, Police Constables, PCSOs and police staff. They are responsible for delivering on neighbourhood policing strategies, directing the deployment of the team and developing relationships with partners and key stakeholders to enable the neighbourhood policing team to work effectively.
The Neighbourhood Sergeant provides frontline management to support and co-ordinate the activity of the neighbourhood policing team. They work with key partners and stakeholders to problem solve issues and develop innovative ways to identify and safeguard vulnerable people within the community.
Police Constables work alongside the community and partner agencies to tackle crime and issues identified by the local community. They work together with PCSOs to be a visible presence in the local area and build trust and confidence by developing a detailed understanding of the community.

Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are the face of the police within local communities. They play an integral part in delivering effective neighbourhood policing, providing a highly visible policing presence and building relationships with the local community as well as working to problem solve long-term neighbourhood issues.
This officer is a Police Community Support Officer. While having no power of arrest, the officer can attend incidents, patrol and reassure, tackle ASB and parking issues, and in Thames Valley will be deployed to deliver our Crime Attendance policy of attending to provide follow up support and contact. They too are also responsible for tackling the concerns of the community.

Neighbourhood Administrators are key members of police staff who provide fundamental support to the local Neighbourhood Policing Team to make neighbourhoods safer and build closer relationships with local communities.

Anti-Social behaviour around Wendover and surrounding areas including Wendover wood remains a priority in the August 2026 community survey.
Action taken:
The neighbourhood team are working to reduce instances of ASB. We previously saw an increase in Wendover woods with motor bikes, causing damage and noise in the woods, this will be reviewed to see if still an issue, especially with warmer days/evenings ahead. We are conducting hi visibility patrols in the area and have ongoing partnership working with parish councils and local residents and businesses to identify offenders and take robust action. .
Sept Update: we have seen a 65% decrease in recorded ASB from last month which is clearly a positive move. We will continue to work closely with residents and local councils to reduce this further.
Review to be completed quarterly in conjunction with community survey to ascertain if issues are still persistent and a concern for the community. Actions are reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress.

The August 2026 community survey voted speeding again as a priority in Wendover and surrounding areas. The areas highlighted from the community and Parish Councils are as follows:

The Wendover neighbourhood team are working to improve road safety by reducing speeding. Speed Surveys will be completed on a monthly basis. We will work with the local Speed watch group and further surveys will be completed by the team and results shared in future updates. . Once target areas have been identified we will look to complete enforcement action with Roads Policing.
Communicating the results to the public and partnership agencies via social media and TV Alerts.
Hi Visibility patrols are also being conducted in target areas, to deter and reduce incidents.
Speed survey operations planned for throughout Sept/Oct/Nov results to be shared in future updates.
Sept update: continued speed surveys by PCSO;s and local speed watch groups will be conducted over the next 3 months and results shared. Once data collated we can arrange Roads policing enforcement days.

Rogue Traders/Scams has been voted a new priority in the August 2026 community survey.
Action taken:
The neighbourhood policing team will be working with the community to deter and prevent Rouge Traders, Scams/Fraud by offering Safety advice via social media and TV Alerts. They target residents and Businesses. to provide support and reassurance moving forward. This information advice will also be available at every Have Your Say meeting and the opportunity to ask questions about your Rouge Traders, Scams/Fraud
Hi visibility patrols conducted to deter this and if any traders are seen door knocking then they will be approached and spoken to accordingly.
This priority will be reviewed 30th monthly to check progress and reviewed quarterly as per the community survey results.
