Every neighbourhood in the Thames Valley area has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team that works together with the local community and partners to: reduce crime and incidents, bring more offenders to justice, protect the vulnerable and tackle violence against women and girls and improve victim service and public confidence.
Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers and the Special Constabulary.
They aim to make communities safer through an approach that is focussed on visibility, engagement, problem solving and community resilience.

1. Anti social behaviour affecting, Stantonbury and Stanton Schools.

The Neighbourhood Team are conducting regular patrols to discourage anti social behaviour and the PCSOs have established ongoing contact with the school and pupils offering support, advice and informative presentations to the young people. This priority remains ongoing and as summer approaches we will target our resources effectively..

2. Drug dealing and related Anti social behaviour. Bellfounder House, Heelands Local Centre, the activity is affecting vulnerable and elderly people in the assisted accommodation.

The Neighbourhood Team is conducting patrols and liaising with the Housing Officer, with a view to improving the security and protection of vulnerable residents. This priority remains as an ongoing issue.Offenders are being identified and robustly targeted. There has been a significant reduction in complaints but the local team and community are monitoring closely.

3. Drug dealing and related anti social behaviour, including aggressive begging, impacting Heelands and the community shopping area.

The Neighbourhood Team are conducting regular high Visibility Patrols in the affected location and will make use of stop and search powers should circumstances arise. They are also liaising with the local shops. This priority, remains an ongoing issue. Recent data shows less incidents being reported as local Officers are targeting offenders.
