An increase in both residential and non-residential burglaries has been identified within the area, causing concern among residents, businesses, and partner agencies.
Issued 21 September 2026
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will adopt a proactive approach focused on enforcement, prevention, and community engagement to reduce offending and increase public confidence.
Targeted high-visibility patrols and intelligence-led operations will be conducted in burglary hotspot locations, with a focus on identifying and disrupting prolific offenders. Officers will make effective use of crime pattern analysis, CCTV, ANPR, and forensic opportunities to support investigations and detect offenders.
Crime prevention activity will include providing security advice to residents and businesses, promoting property marking schemes, encouraging the use of CCTV and alarm systems, and supporting target-hardening measures for vulnerable premises. Reassurance visits will be carried out for victims and those most at risk of repeat victimisation.
The policing team will work closely with local authorities, housing providers, businesses, and community safety partners to share information and coordinate preventative activity. Burglary trends and outcomes will be reviewed regularly to ensure resources remain focused on emerging hotspots.
