  • Priority:

Anti-social behaviour continues to be highlighted as a community priority in the Chalfonts. One of the largest issues of anti-social behaviour the team deal with on a regular basis is the pony and trap racing on the A413 and A40.

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

This month, the team have been preparing for the expected rise in anti-social behaviour around the Halloween period. The team have carried out early engagement with retailers across the district around the sale of items like eggs and flour.

PCSOs on the team have also been engaging with local youths, tackling issues of door knocking, low level thefts and other anti-social behaviour. Community resolutions have been issued to those responsible for disturbing the community as well as written warnings. The team have also been liaising with local schools to conduct school talks in order to provide awareness and advice regarding anti-social behaviour.

Pony & trap racing continues to be an issue of concern in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. After considerable work with our partners at Buckinghamshire Council, a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is now in place on the relevant sections of the A413 and A40. This order prohibits the behaviour in question and provides the police with additional enforcement capabilities. This month, the team have been continuing to respond to reports of pony and trap racing. They have used dispersal powers to direct people to leave the and have continued to issue fixed penalty notices for breaching the public spaces protection orders, as well as multiple vehicle seizures.

If you have any information relating to anti-social behaviour please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

  • Priority:

The residents of the Chalfonts have identified speeding to be one of the top priorities they would like their local neighbourhood team to focus on. In our recent neighbourhood priorities survey, residents have highlighted concerns regarding various different roads including the A413.

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

The team are currently looking to train more officers on operating the speed gun. The public have communicated local roads and streets where speeding is most prominent, the team will use this information to plan their upcoming speed enforcement and operations.

If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if a crime is in progress or you are at risk of harm.

    Actioned 01 November 2026

  • Priority:

Burglary continues to be voted for as a priority by the residents of the Chalfonts. As the colder months approach, tackling and preventing burglary routinely becomes a priority for all areas across Buckinghamshire. The Chalfont that is vulnerable to burglary due to it being close to the M40 near the borders of other counties

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

The Buckinghamshire policing area will begin "Operation Grotto", the annual winter burglary campaign to prevent and tackle the seasonal rise in burglary.

Resources for dedicated burglary patrols have been planned to ensure there is an increased police presence, particularly in areas known to have increased reports of burglary offences.

Crime prevention by local residents is also crucial in seeing a decrease in burglary. The team will utilise their have your say events to advise members of the public on how they can keep their homes as safe and secure as possible. We will also utilise our social media channels to post crime prevention advice to ensure more people in our communities are aware of what steps they can take to protect themselves from criminality. When a burglary does take place, PCSOs on the team will carry out a process called cocooning, where they deliver burglary prevention to properties in near proximity to the home that has been burgled.

If you have any information relating to burglary please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
