Anti-social behaviour is another priority voted for by the residents of the Chalfonts, the local neighbourhood team for the area continues to deal with issues such as anti-social driving and pony and trap racing
Issued 31 May 2026
The neighbourhood policing team continue to tackle anti-social behaviour.
The team are continuing their hard work around youth-related anti-social behaviour in shops in Chalfont St Peter. A number of those involved have now been spoken to in the presence of parents. Several banning letters have been served and in cases of criminal offences, out of court resolutions have been issued. We have also stepped up both uniformed and plain-clothed patrols in the village centre with a view to targeting this behaviour.
Pony & trap racing continues to be an issue of concern in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. After considerable work with our partners at Buckinghamshire Council a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is now in place on the relevant sections of the A413 and A40. This order prohibits the behaviour in question and provides the police with additional enforcement capabilities. We have responded to a number of calls in recent weeks, one individual has been issued with a PSPO Fixed Penalty Notice and a number of other drivers have been reported for traffic offences.
We have also carried out a number of joint patrols with the Buckinghamshire Council Waste Enforcement Team to combat fly-tipping. Several load related / waste carrying offences were identified and drivers reported accordingly.
If you have any information relating to anti-social behaviour please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.

Due to competing demands on the neighbourhood policing team we have been unable to complete as much speed enforcement work as we would have liked.
Further operations are planned in the near future.

Burglary continues to be voted for as a priority by the residents of the Chalfonts, areas around South Buckinghamshire continued to be targeted by burglary offenders
Issued 31 May 2026
We continue to work hard to combat burglary through targeted patrols of the most affected areas and of the borders with neighbouring areas and forces.
In July we participated in a multi-force operation targeting criminal use of the road network. This operation saw intensive proactive policing with partners across the Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Denham and Iver. Across all of the forces involved over 60 people were arrested and over 40 vehicles were seized. For full results please see our social media channels.
We also participated in a local rural crime initiative alongside the Metropolitan Police Service. This operation also saw intensive activity in the same area and resulted in an arrest, multiple vehicle seizures, multiple drivers being reported for traffic offences and some really positive engagement with our rural community. Investigations were also launched into two drivers who failed to stop for officers.
