Retail Crime and Theft in Thame Town Centre
Issued 01 July 2026
We continue to combat begging in the Town Centre utilising Anti-Social Behaviour powers like Community Protection Warnings and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts. Joint work with Thame Town Council has ensured that this is vastly reduced. We have also been working on combatting Anti-Social use of off road motorbikes and quad bikes alongside Roads Policing Colleagues under the Operation Turbo banner.

Neighbourhood Crime (Theft from Motor Vehicles)
Issued 01 July 2026
Our primary suspects for the Theft from Motor Vehicle series at Junction 8A Services of the M40 remain on bail whilst our colleagues in or Priority Crime Team investigate the offences fully. I am pleased to report offending is vastly reduced thanks to our joint work with the Services and their CCTV systems. Local offences to Thame are also reduced due to thorough work earlier this year in relation to a local offender.

Anti-Social Behaviour in Thame Town Centre
Issued 01 July 2026
Unfortunately there has been a delay in being able to re-launch Shopwatch due to some technical difficulties. Once resolved, the team’s new PCSOs will be launching the scheme with Town Council and OPCC colleagues. We hope this will go a long way to connecting up Thame’s retail outlets and providing a better service to all. We are currently completing work on one offender suspecting of a public order offence as well as 3 local shopliftings. We are confident that this offender will be brought to justice.
