The Sergeant is next in command and also assists the Inspector. In addition they provide leadership in the development and supervision of the Constables and PCSOs. They too work with the community and other agencies to ensure that the concerns of the community are dealt with by the Neighbourhood Team.
Police Constables work alongside the community and partner agencies to tackle crime and issues identified by the local community. They work together with PCSOs to be a visible presence in the local area and build trust and confidence by developing a detailed understanding of the community.

Retail Crime and Theft in Thame Town Centre

The team have made great inroads into local offending in retail premises. We have made good connections with management in most of Thame's major retail outlets and also had success with charging several local offenders with shoplifting offences. We continue to work towards the re-launch of Shopwatch which has been delayed due to technical works.

Neighbourhood Crime (Theft from Motor Vehicles)

Offending in the area of Theft from Motor Vehicles continues to be greatly reduced thanks to pro-active work by the team. The suspect for the offences at j.8 M40 remains under investigation by our colleagues in the Priority Crime Team. The team remain in close contact with staff and CCTV operators at the location to ensure any repeat offending is curtailed quickly.

Anti-Social Behaviour in Thame Town Centre

The team are working on compiling offences committed by a group of young people in Thame recently. Evidence gathering has been underway and we will be looking at interviewing the suspects in the near future to curtail offending and bring them to justice. Our Hotspot patrols cover those areas most affected by ASB including the Town Centre, Elms Park and Southern Road Rec.
