Burglary remains a significant concern for communities across South Buckinghamshire, including Burnham, the Farnhams and Taplow. As we enter the autumn and winter months, when burglary offences traditionally increase due to longer hours of darkness, the neighbourhood policing team will continue to focus on prevention, disruption of offenders and providing crime prevention advice to residents.
Issued 01 September 2026
We recognise that both residential and commercial burglaries can have a significant impact on residents and businesses. Your neighbourhood policing team plays an important role in preventing offences, reassuring communities, and supporting victims when incidents do occur. Recent burglary in St Peter's Close and Orchard Ville have meant further dedicated patrol and crime prevention taking place within the area. Also a crime prevention seminar focusing on burglaries is being organised to take place within Burnham Library (further details will follow under the events tab)
We work closely with local Neighbourhood Watch Associations to deliver crime prevention events, information stalls, and community talks. These initiatives help residents and business owners improve both physical and procedural security measures, making properties less attractive to offenders and increasing the opportunity for police to intervene and apprehend suspects.
Hotspot patrols form a key part of our prevention strategy. These patrols take place throughout the day and night in areas identified through intelligence and crime trends. Officers actively engage with suspicious vehicles and individuals, providing a visible deterrent and helping to identify criminal activity at an early stage.
Neighbourhood officers also support Operation Grotto, a proactive initiative aimed at disrupting travelling criminals and preventing offenders from using the road network to commit burglary offences within our communities.
When a burglary does occur, we attend where appropriate to provide reassurance and practical crime prevention advice, often referred to as; 'target hardening', to reduce the likelihood of further offending. Officers also gather evidence and intelligence to support investigations conducted by specialist departments. By analysing police data and identifying emerging trends, we can focus resources on affected areas, provide timely crime prevention messages, and work with partners to prevent further burglaries from taking place.

Anti-social behaviour remains a key priority for residents across Burnham, Farnham Common and Taplow, having been highlighted as one of the main concerns in recent community surveys. The neighbourhood team continues to tackle these issues through targeted patrols, engagement with local residents and businesses, and partnership working with other agencies.
Particular concerns have been raised in Burnham, where there have been ongoing reports of youth-related anti-social behaviour in Burnham High Street and Burnham Park.
Issued 01 September 2026
Your neighbourhood policing team continues to utilise patrols to target areas experiencing increased or persistent anti-social behaviour. These patrols help both detect and deter offending, while providing reassurance to local communities.
Officers and PCSOs proactively engage with residents through hotspot patrols and house-to-house visits, helping us better understand the needs and concerns of each area. This engagement enables us to identify issues early and take action before anti-social behaviour escalates into more serious crime.
Residents in Farnham Common have raised concerns regarding vehicles parking on the zig-zag markings near the parade. In response, officers have conducted targeted enforcement activity, resulting in more than 15 traffic offence tickets being issued since the beginning of 2026.
We have also received reports of drug-related activity across Burnham and Farnham Common. As a result, the neighbourhood team has undertaken a number of proactive operations, leading to the arrest of individuals wanted for robbery offences, possession of controlled drugs, and possession with intent to supply controlled drugs. We remain committed to tackling drug-related crime, and these operations will continue throughout the summer months.
The team is also aware of concerns surrounding the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters in the area. Through targeted patrols and enforcement activity, officers have seized a number of illegal e-scooters in and around Burnham Park. One male known to police has also been identified and reported for driving without insurance. Officers continue to gather intelligence, including CCTV footage and sighting reports, to better understand the scale of the issue and support future enforcement operations.
We encourage residents to continue reporting concerns and sightings through the Thames Valley Police website or by calling 101, as information provided by the community remains vital in helping us identify offenders, direct patrols effectively, and keep our neighbourhoods safe.

Speeding has been voted as a priority by residents across the area particularly in Cliveden Road, Taplow and A355 in Farnham.
Issued 01 September 2026
A number of vehicles were identified and given section 59 warning for driving anti-socially. Two vehicles checked for noise emissions.
Speeding enforcement has taken place with our road policing department. Due to the diligence of our dedicated volunteers to the Farnham Common Community speed watch team monitoring the A355 by One Pin Lane we have now dedicated a TVP speed enforcement vehicle to this location regularly.
